The Raleigh Record was an entry-level model. In 1979 it was painted with the Team Colors. Riders wanted something much nicer, but not as expensive as the Team Professional (pro-level quality). So Raleigh released this, without adding it to their official catalogs. It was known as the French Record. Basically a Competition GS frameset and brakes (Weinmann), with SunTour drivetrain components replacing the Campagnolo GS. And painted in the classic Red, Yellow, and Black Livery of the 1978 Championship Team. This bike belonged to a dear friend of the shop. He bequeathed it upon moving out of Chicago.
